The prizes they are competing for are not great sums of money. What they can win is much more valuable than money. They win the opportunity to talk about their research to a large number of people and convince those people that their research is the most worthwhile and important research at their university.
In 2013 Jordan Nguyen was a finalist in the UTS 3 minute thesis competition. Although three minutes does not seem like a long period of time, Jordan Nguyen manages to cover many topics in his presentation. He talks about who his research will help, what technology is included in his research, his method of research and why his research is important.
I think Jordan Nguyen is a very good public speaker. He is calm and serene while standing on the stage. That makes him seem self-confident. What do you think about Jordan's presentation style? Do you like the way he presents his ideas?
